I love Air Plants

Over my years of keeping frogs, I’ve successfully grown air plants (Tillandsia species) in my vivariums. Since I don’t keep my dart frogs in overly damp enclosures, many Tillandsia species thrive and grow well in the upper regions of the vivarium, near the lights, where they can dry out after the daily artificial rain.

I also make sure not to place them directly in the line of sight of the rain nozzles, and I spray them once a week with Tillandsia fertiliser.

The plants are simply glued with superglue to branches, rocks and lianas.

The result is a collection of species perfectly suited to my Ranitomeya vivariums. Enjoy!
